ITM Power PLC said Thursday that it has been awarded funding from the U.K. government for the development of its electrolyser technology.
The manufacturer of hydrogen energy solutions said it will use the 9.3 million pounds ($11.5 million) in funding to accelerate the commercial deployment of its 5 megawatt electrolyser module, the Gigastack Electrolyser Platform.
The award is part of the U.K. government's Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 Competition, which aims to provide funding for projects that can help develop hydrogen solutions, the company said.
