Information Security Officers Group (ISOG) is all set to launch its 2022 program that aims to strengthen information security in the Philippines. Known as “I am Secure,” the campaign will continue the organization’s legacy in sharing awareness of information security best practices, intelligence sharing, and inter-institutional incident response.

One of the main events of this year is the “Metaverse: I am Secure Forum 2022,” which will run virtually from the second quarter to the third quarter of the year, with the theme “Traversing Beyond the Cyberspace.”

In this forum, Metaverse, a radical transformation in the digital world will be presented in different aspects — from business opportunities to enterprise impact and challenges. “The Metaverse forum not only proposes to educate our information security professionals about the latest developments in the digital ecosystem, but also seeks to provide insights on the best practices for cybersecurity measures,” said Chito Jacinto, ISOG’s VP and 2022 Forum and Awards chair.

Excellence awards

Another event to look forward to is the first ISOG Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, which will be held at Shangri-La the Fort and online during cybersecurity month (Oct. 27). This hybrid awarding ceremony aims to honor exceptional Filipino cybersecurity experts, products, and institutions with notable contributions to the domestic and worldwide security arena.

“It’s about time that cybersecurity leaders get the spotlight they deserve for the significant contributions they’ve made to the local and global cyber landscape,” said. Archie Tolentino, president, ISOG.

On the list of recognitions to be presented at the ISOG Cybersecurity Excellence Awards are company awards like Best Cybersecurity Company of the Year, Best Cyber Security Awareness Campaign, and Best Data Privacy Program, among others. There will also be individual awards, such as Top CISO of the Year, Top CIO of the Year, and more.

Aiming to establish the standard for a sustainable and safe information security environment, ISOG will traverse the year with a powerful line-up of 2022 cybersecurity programs, which will be organized by XMS.

With dedicated members, valued partner organizations, stakeholders, and government agencies, the organization is all geared up to bring its plans to fruition as it continues to cyber secure the country.
