However, 2 other credit cards were compromised at the same time as well and I was looking for the connection.
One card had 9 fraudulent charges, another had one fraudulent charge and the credit card's fraud detection system was able to shut off the account. Another card had about 20 attempted fraudulent charges and none of them were successful. These charges were coming from all around the globe.
I did not find any connection between these 3 cards. One of the cards I never took outside home and its last transaction was 4/5 months ago. 2 other cards I took outside together only a few times.
I found my answer today when Equifax declared that there was a huge data breach that affected 143 million customers. I have strong reasons to believe that my cards were hacked because of the breach as the time frame matches and it only makes sense.
Credit card reporting companies like Equifax will never tell you the real story and how many credit cards or clients were leaked. I do not trust them with the information they are providing and how can you trust some one who broke your trust at the first place failing to protect your valuable information.
