Full Sail upgrades live events facility with new technology – WFTV
WINTER PARK, Fla. — Full Sail University has upgraded its flagship live events facility, Full Sail Live, with new technology.
The $1.4 million project helped afford the venue’s complete redesign of the entertainment lighting system and a complete upgrade to the newest video server technology from EVS.
“Our university is educating the next generation of professionals entering the show production industry. With a high demand for skilled professionals, our internal teams built a strategic plan to implement technology upgrades that would provide robust educational opportunities, while giving our students the ability to push the boundaries of their creativity,” Jay Noble, Vice President of Alumni Relations and Events at Full Sail University, said in a news release. “In addition, due to the numerous professional events the venue hosts each year, these upgrades will give our professional staff a range of technology tools to utilize when bringing these events to life.”

Full Sail Live is a 22,000-square-foot, acoustically engineered, multi-purpose facility that serves as a live-performance venue known for hosting concerts, conferences, film and TV productions and more. The facility also provides access for Full Sail’s show production undergrad students.
The lighting system redesign was led by Full Sail show production graduate and lighting director Noah Rohrbaugh. It was done in-house and includes all new lighting fixtures, truss, power and data cables.

“Reimagining the entertainment lighting system in Full Sail Live has been such a fun project to work on. Although the facility already had so many amazing systems, we wanted to give the staff and future Show Production students more room to let their creativity shine by integrating the video and lighting technology,” Rohrbaugh in a news release.
