HOBOKEN, N.J. (Oct. 22, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology picked up a big 4-0 MAC Freedom win over Delaware Valley University at home on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks dominated in every phase of the game and first-year Gabi Moroney and sophomore Emily Smart each scored twice.

Stevens made their presence felt early and controlled the play in the opening quarter. They outshot the Aggies by a total of 11-1 in the first 15 minutes and earned six penalty corners while holding their opponent to zero. The Ducks' pressure finally paid off when Moroney scored with just over a minute remaining in the first. She received a pass from sophomore Sarah Korczukowski and tucked it into the left side of the net to give her team a 1-0 lead headed into the second.

The second played out similarly to the first with Stevens controlling much of the action and then scoring late. The Ducks' defense was stout and did not allow Delaware Valley to get off a single shot in the quarter. With just 90 seconds remaining Stevens was able to double their lead with a goal from Smart. It was Korczukowski once again with the feed out front for her second assist of the game and it was 2-0 headed into halftime.

The Ducks did not let their foot off the gas in the second half and found the back of the net in the third and fourth quarters. Smart scored her second of the game with five minutes left in the third and Moroney assisted to add to her impressive performance. Moroney then scored the final goal of the game early in the fourth quarter. Senior Lynda Farinella received the ball off a penalty corner and swung it to Moroney who buried it to make the score 4-0 and put the game away.

Stevens improved to 10-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play with the win. Delaware Valley fell to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in conference action.
