Like in the rest of the world, the most common password used in the Netherlands is 123456, according to an analysis by website Scattered Secrets, which runs a password breach notification and prevention service.

Scattered Secrets collects passwords which have been leaked or hacked, and now contains nearly four billion, with new words being added every second.

While the most popular Dutch passwords are variations on the word welcome, or on numbers, the Dutch also take inspiration from their favourite football clubs, with feyenoord (with a small F) in 15th place and ajax in 30th, the Financieele Dagblad reported.

Although this could indicate Feyenoord fans are more fanatic, it could also be that they are less worried about computer security as well, the FD pointed out.

Amsterdam (with a small a) is in 13th place and Rotterdam 24th.
