One of those shootings ended the life of Denise Huguelet, a retired special education teacher from Orland Park. The 67-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 11 was heading home from a White Sox game Aug. 17 when she was shot and killed on the Dan Ryan Expressway, seemingly for no reason. “So many people, after a tragic event like this, the anger crushes their soul — understandably,” Huguelet’s husband, Michael Huguelet, recently told the Tribune. “I can’t let the anger crush my soul.”
