You are facing numerous threats to disrupt your supply chain and the products within the supply chain. Among the many threats potentially posed, cyberattacks on products and your networks are getting attention from both criminals and regulators.

It is estimated that health records provide a 20 times higher price on the black market than the more discussed cyberattack of credit card fraud. Clearly these cyberattacks are emerging as an area of great concern to healthcare organizations and their Boards. From CT scanners to infusion pumps, products are getting more sophisticated in their use which also means they are becoming increasingly vulnerable to a cyberattack. This session will discuss the multiple advisories issued by the FDA, FBI, DHS and other federal agencies regarding product security; the evolution of medical device security audits being mandated by OIG of the Department of Health and Human Services; the vulnerability of patient information along with other regulatory and market impacts on healthcare devices and your supply chain.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify ways that supply chain can help minimize security risks by embedding security into selection and purchasing.
2. Describe the implications cyber security attacks..
3. Analyze disruptions in supply chain associated with the new era of medical devices.
