Cybersecurity expert explains challenges and solutions
STATEWIDE — Cybersecurity threats affect people daily, and as one cybersecurity expert explains, the current hybrid workforce requires us to be extra vigilant when protecting passwords.
Dashlane CEO J.D. Sherman said 80% of cyber breaches and hacks come from passwords being compromised, which can lead to identity theft.

Sherman suggests practicing what he calls “password hygiene.”
Password hygiene involves using multi-factored authentication, changing your password around every three months, and not sharing password information with others.
“You can think about cybersecurity and cyber thieves almost like auto thieves walking through the shopping mall parking lot. They’re looking for the car with the windows rolled down and the doors unlocked that’ll be easy to get into and drive away with,” Sherman said.
