Cybersecurity convention ‘CyberAttack’ launches this month – Manila Bulletin

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the “CyberAttack” is set to return to Manila this August 25 and 26. Organized by The TEH Group and with the theme “The Retreat,” and will take place in Taal Vista Hotel.

The event will kick off with a Gala Dinner on the 25th of August, hosted by Venus Raj, Miss Universe Pageant 2010, along with guest of honor, Ping Remulla, Cavite board member, 7th District Provincial Government of Cavite. Joining them is Jonathan Rudolph Y Ragsag, OIC chief, data security, and technology standards division, National Privacy Commission, sharing insights on Data Protection Threats and Trends in the Philippines. 

With increasing connectivity comes increasing cyber threats. The full-day conference will feature the latest insights and sharing to address today’s cybersecurity threats and ways to defend your enterprise from future attacks. 

Genalyn Macalinao, Policy Lead of the Cybersecurity Bureau, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will open the conference as the keynote speaker. A member of the ICT Department’s Cybersecurity Bureau and the agency’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, Ms. Macalinao coordinates the DIT’s Cybersecurity Bureau’s policies and program and she will share what have we accomplished through the National CyberSecurity Plan 2022. 

Moderated by Jeffrey Teh, Head of Content, CyberAttack; a panel discussion focusing on Shifting Cybersecurity Priorities in Cloud Adoption will bring together panelists from Unistar Credit and Finance Corporation, GCash, Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines; to discuss the readiness of enterprises in tackling more sophisticated attacks.
