This is the moment brass instrument musicians play their horns aboard an aeroplane but land the airline under investigation for allegedly breaching safety protocol. The Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra members were filmed playing their instruments in a flight which took off from the Colombian city of Medellin located in the Antioquia department on 5th October. Their audience were passengers from flight AV 8565 flying for Colombian airline Avianca in a route which regularly travels between Medellin and the capital city of Bogota. The musicians were part of a publicity project by Avianca in which the airline hoped that their passengers would “enjoy the best art has to offer”. One of the videos shows the moment passengers watch from their seats while others film with their phones as the musicians play from their seats - most of them playing brass instruments. The person filming walks across the cabin showing passengers watch on until approaching a horn player standing in the middle of the aisle as the video ends. Another two videos show the moment several musicians stand around a boarding gate for flight AV0030 for the same company at the Jose Maria Cordova de Rionegro International airport travelling to the American city of Miami, Florida on 5th October. The horn players stand in formation as they play their instruments and walk around apparently moving around like a marching band. Avianca captioned one saying they are still flying “to share magical experiences! While they prepared to board their flight, our passengers enjoyed the talent and music of the” Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra.
