Clearwater Anti-Piracy Tracking System Animation

Clearwater is a state of the art anti-piracy management tool designed for use by ship owners and operators, specialist insurance providers, cargo stake holders and private maritime security companies. This advanced tracking system is used by vessels across the world to assist in the avoidance of piracy.
We were approached by Atlas Inc. the company behind Clearwater and asked to create a short animation which helped to explain their product in a simple and succinct way.
After deciding on the key points of the product, we constructed a script and worked on a theme for the video. As the system exists within a computer interface we wanted to take graphic elements from the Clearwater interface and include these along with assets we’d designed.
We also created a series of assets, a number of different environment’s and directed a sound recording session for the narration used in the final video.
We worked with talented animator Dean Smith, who created the final video in After Effects building and animating scene-by-scene in time with the voice over. A lot of the technical data elements were also expression driven, which gives the animation a more natural and random movement.
