Tomorrow is the fourth annual Cyber Security summit in London. With Scotland Yard announcing it is investigating more than two hundred criminal groups involved in cyber fraud, Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude said that public and businesses need to do more to protect themselves. Is he suggesting they need to do this to protect themselves from GCHQ mass surveillance programmes? Former head of GCHQ, David Omand, has said they have lawyers on hand at all times to ensure they are operating within the limits of the law. Whilst David Cameron has come out in support of the intelligence agencies, former Shadow Home Secretary David Davis has said we should 'think very closely about this whole strategy of sweeping everybody's data up which invades everybody's privacy'. Will this be on the agenda tomorrow, or will it be left to the whistleblowers' news conference, taking place in London on Friday?
