President Muhammadu Buhari and some top security agency heads held a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Those who attended the closed-door meeting included the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu; National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno ( retd.); and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai-Abubakar.

The agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.

However, some  sources said the meeting might be about the general security situation, including the handling of tension in the country over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

As the meeting ended, the security officials did not give any media briefing as they walked pass waiting reporters.

They were seen living Buhari’s office in company with his Chief of Staff, Mr Abba Kyari.

The President’s media office also did not issue any statement on the outcome or aim of the meeting.
