Bitdefender Review 2017: Malware Detection Test

This video review of Bitdefender is focused on the malware detection capabilities of Bitdefender Total Security 2017.

This video, as always, includes a quick explanation about malware types and examples of malware infection methods.

As mentioned above, the version I'm testing in this video is Bitdefender Total security 2017.
However, it's important to note that while I decided to test this version, which is filled to the brim with extra features, this test is also representative of the basic Bitdefender Antivirus 2017 version because the same core antivirus engine is used by the different Bitdefender products.

I test an updated version of Bitdefender Total Security 2017 against a folder of 1,000 new malware files.
I install the antivirus on a clean Windows 10 OS, update it, and run a full scan on dormant malware.
Our team aims for consistent testing, and therefore we use the same dedicated standalone PC for all the tests and videos.
What's not tested in this video is the ability of this antivirus to detect and remove active malware; malicious files which you already activated. That will be covered in other tests and videos, so stay tuned!
Bitdefender has remained as the top of its game in all security aspects for several consecutive years, so it is no wonder that it performed beautifully when detecting malware.
