Shares of information technology company Avid Technology Inc. were trading higher in Monday's after-hours market, following news the company will be joining the S&P SmallCap 600 on Sept. 1.
Avid will replace Plantronics, which is being acquired by HP Inc., S&P Dow Jones Indices said.
At 5:27 p.m. ET, shares of Avid Technology were trading 9.78% higher, at $26.49 per share. The stock finished the day's regular session with a 0.37% loss, closing at $24.13 per share. Year to date, shares are down by more than 25%.
