Apple Accuses Google of
'Stoking Fear' Among iPhone Users.
Google researchers
had published a
blog post concerning a
security flaw in Apple's iOS. .
The flaw put user iPhone data at
risk if a malicious website was visited.
... simply visiting the hacked site was enough for the exploit server to attack your device, and if it was successful, install a monitoring implant, Google Statement, via TechRadar.
Ten days after being contacted
by Google concerning the flaw,
Apple fixed the issue.
The tech giant fired back at Google,
saying the post created panic "among
all iPhone users that their devices
had been compromised.".
Google’s post ... creates the false impression of ‘mass exploitation’ to ‘monitor the private activities of entire populations in real time,’ ... This was never the case, Apple Statement, via TechRadar.
Google responded, saying its
researchers wrote the blog "to
focus on the technical aspects
of these vulnerabilities." .
The company added that it stood
by the post and "will continue to
work with Apple and other leading
companies to help keep people safe online.”
