Anybody who has been counted on in their household to take care of technological matters can relate to Anthony Davis and his new role for the Los Angeles Lakers and his teammates, within the Orlando Bubble. No, nothing about Davis’ on-court job is any different than it normally is. However, when the Lakers leave the court, Davis has picked up a new role: Chief Technology Officer of Lakers Leisure.
Yahoo’s Chris Haynes reported on Tuesday morning that Davis’ room has become the hot hangout spot for players on the Lakers, mostly because Davis knows how to plug in the proper technology for whatever is the Lakers are doing that day, including the team Madden tournament.
“I’m one of the few who has a suite and I’m the tech guy of the team who knows how to set up all the devices and connect them to the TV,” the star forward told Yahoo Sports. “LeBron is a big Snoop Dogg fan and actually a big DMX fan, and so my room made sense. It started with that and then we just kept it going from there.”
Knowing how much the Lakers are putting on Davis, I’m willing to forgive the fact that he currently has a losing record in the Madden Tournament despite playing with the Baltimore Ravens. He’s clearly got a lot more on his plate to deal with in these tournaments.
