One core building block of Bitcoin are asymmetric cryptographic systems. In particular elliptic curve cryptography. I started my book with revisiting 3 core properties which are being discussed in the book as well as in this video. This video comes together with a book chapter and some source code that is also in the git repository of this book. One of the things we can do with asymmetric cryptographic systems is to create electronic cash as a chain of digital signatures.
