After a week on the beautiful island of Bermuda, the PGA Tour heads to another breathtaking part of the world, Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Several of the best players in the world, including world No. 2 Scottie Scheffler and two-time defending champion Viktor Hovland, headline yet another strong field.
After his 2020 triumph, Hovland came back to Mayakoba last season and out dueled Carlos Ortiz and Justin Thomas, winning by four strokes.
Five players who finished inside the top 10 last season now play on the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf Series.
Scheffler, who grabbed a solo fourth here a year ago, is the betting favorite at +900.

Didn’t have too much action on the Bermuda Championship.
Justin Lower (T-8) and S.H. Lee (MC) outrights failed to cash, although we hit +150 on the Lower top-20 play.
Since the start of the new season, we’re up 35.5 units (outright plays). Let’s keep it rolling in Mexico.

Aaron Wise grabbed a solo-sixth finish at the CJ Cup in his last start.
Last season, Wise tied for 15th at Mayakoba, but the year before, he was the solo runner-up to Hovland. By all indications, he loves this place.
He knocked on the door a few times last season, including a T-6 at the Mexico Open and a solo second at the Memorial. His lone PGA Tour title came at the 2018 Byron Nelson.

If you listen to the Twilight 9 podcast, you know Mav is one of my guys. However, I recently put him on the bench.
It’s time for him to rip off the tearaway pants.
Since missing the cut at the Fortinet Championship to start the season, McNealy hasn’t finished outside the top 20 in three starts, including a T-10 at the Shriners.
In three starts at Mayakoba, the 26-year-old has yet to finished outside the top 30, with his best performance coming last season (T-11).

I’ve put Montgomery on the card a few times already this season and it’s paid off. He’s finished inside the top 20 in all four starts and I’m going right back to him.
This will be his first appearance at Mayakoba but his playing style should fit the track perfectly.

Day had a disappointing start to the new season, missing the cut at the Fortinet Championship. He’s now grabbed consecutive top 15s and his game looks as sharp as we’ve seen in years.
He’s sixth in Strokes Gained: Approach, third in greens in regulation and 18th in SG: Tee to Green. If he rolls the rock at Mayakoba, look out.
