For $4.99, Swipe Buster will track down a user for you by simply inputting their name and last known location.ย The website, called Swipebusterย claims that it canย track down a Tinder user and even expose the userโs last-known location.
Rather than โhackingโ Tinder, it uses the appโs API (application program interface) to comb through its database and find the target. The API is intended for developers who want to build plug-in tools for Tinder.ย Tinderโs A.P.I. and database are public.
The man behind Swipe Buster,who according to Vanity Fair wishes to remain anonymous, told the magazine that Swipe Buster is a short-term project designed to make Tinder aware of how much information it is publicly disclosing about its users.
โThere is too much data about people that people themselves donโt know is available,โ the founder of the site explained to Vanity Fair .
