Drupal is well-known as the premier platform for community-driven websites; the Ubercart package for Drupal adds eCommerce to the community plumbing. This session shows how anyone can can build a community around a product or service or otherwise monetize a web presence by walking-through a real-world Drupal Ubercart implementation.
John is a Principal Engineer at Rockwell Collins, a defense contractor with offices in Richardson, TX. He works on classified projects for the Department of Defense requiring expertise in embedded software, network security, and cryptography. At night and on weekends, John consults with clients requiring website development on Drupal 5 and Drupal 6 and has also launched Drupal-based community and social networking sites on his own.
A recent client required an upgrade to their existing eCommerce site, and, John implemented the site in Drupal with Ubercart providing the eCommerce features.
