0FIFA 23 revealed with improved HyperMotion2 Technology
EA has lifted the curtain on this year’s FIFA 23 which is set to release on September 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. FIFA 23 will feature the next evolution of HyperMotion2, a next-gen technology that was first introduced in last year’s game.
HyperMotion technology revolutionized motion capture for EA’s FIFA franchise, and this year is said to set “a new standard in realistic and immersive gameplay on the pitch.”
While more specific details about HyperMotion2 will be revealed on July 27, EA did tease some of what fans can look forward to in FIFA 23:
The advancements to FIFA 23’s HyperMotion2 technology and physics system have unlocked an array of new features making the gameplay experience feel more immersive than ever. Team and player movement across the pitch is more responsive, smart and authentic, whether jockeying against a defender or claiming an aerial ball against an attacker as a keeper. Players can also look forward to a new intelligent dribbling system, a more natural and fluid transition to shooting, all-new acceleration mechanics, enhanced player awareness and much more.
There are a lot of buzz words and fancy marketing jargon being thrown around in there, so just check out the official reveal trailer for an idea of what FIFA 23 will look and play like.
You may have noticed something incredibly exciting in the trailer above — FIFA 23 will feature women’s club teams for the first time in franchise history. The Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema will be the two leagues available at launch, but EA plans to expand the women’s club offerings in the future. The women’s club teams will also benefit from HyperMotion2 as the animations have been informed “by the movement of real-life female players,” according to EA.
When HyperMotion debuted last year, it was only available on PS5, XBox Series X|S and Stadia. This was due to EA trying to keep the game as accessible as possible to everyone on PC. With FIFA 23, HyperMotion2 will now be available on PC as well.
In addition to women’s clubs and HyperMotion2, FIFA 23 will add the men’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 through post-launch updates at no additional cost. FIFA 23 is set to launch on September 30 with early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition starting on September 27, 2022.
